Yellowstone tourist gets scare of her life while attempting to pet bison
A woman visiting Yellowstone National Park learned the hard way why people should not try to pet the bison.
Video shows a tourist attempt to pet a bison grazing by a pathway May 20 after a group approached the animal to take selfies.
When the woman reached out to pet the big bovine, she got quite the scare. The bison lowered its head and lunged at her with its horns. The animal snagged the tourist's sweater as she scrambled to get away, but she managed to break loose and appeared unharmed.
The incident shows exactly why people should not get too close to wild animals, according to Zoo Miami ambassador Ron Magill.

You know you fricked up when getting scared to death and becoming a national laughingstock is actually far from the worst outcome of an action you took

Maybe you shouldn’t FAFO with the largest land mammal in North America?

To be fair there are many videos out there of foreigners doing dumb things in national parks

In all fairness, And I'm not sure about this story, but a great majority of these incidents in YS and similar areas are foreign tourist (Lots of Japanese with their telephoto lenses) who do not understand that's is a natural habitat with wild, "untamed" animals and not a man made "petting zoo"
And this is first hand information from a brother that works there.

As a society we have already been there. We just didn’t have a camera in everyones hand recording everything everywhere.
In the 80s we were vacationing on kiawah island and watched a family let their toddler walk right up to an alligator. My mom was calling them out and warning them to get their kid away from the alligator. They looked at us like we were over reacting and didn’t understand our concern. Saw things like this too many times.

This actually appears to be exactly the case on this one if you look closely.

I was at a conference in West Virginia a few years ago. A guy tried to take a selfie with a deer. He wondered why it wouldn't pose with him.
