“Unfortunately, they don’t realize that there is no such thing as a purebred pit bull,”
This is an incredibly stupid statement.
quote:
said Susan Reaver, president and founder of Pits and Rotts for Life Rescue Inc. in Randallstown.
Ah. Now the stupidity makes sense.
quote:
But experts say most dogs commonly referred to as a pit bull are either a mix of other breeds or are pure-bred of a breed often misidentified as a pit bull.
Duh. That doesn't make their case at all though.
quote:
Rather than a specific breed, pit bull is more of a generic term to describe a group of dogs with similar characteristics — much as are “hound” and “terrier” — and encompasses both mixes and pure-bred dogs, Peterson said.
Pitbulls ARE terriers. Just like the American Staffordshire Terrier and even to the little Cairn Terrier. They are trying to give them a new category when they ALREADY have one.
quote:
But it also is often applied to pure-bred dogs, including American Staffordshire terriers, dogo argentino and Staffordshire bull terrier and even boxers, Reaver said.
And this is where their stupidity leads us. They are redefining terms to fit their agendas. Both sides are doing it.

vizsla.
probably more athletic and faster than the dog breeds commented. extremely smart, loyal, and loving. difficult to train.
greyhound.
lazy. loving. great guard dog (90lbs of pure muscle and a lot of teeth). extremely trainable. only needs 30 minutes of exercise or less a day. and will smoke all your slow arse dogs at a dog park, even the vizsla.

I have a Blue Heeler and a Cane Corso. The first two years with the Blue Heeler were hell. You can't wear them down, they always have to be doing something. He finally calmed down a good bit though and he's a great dog.
This is the second Cane Corso I've owned and they are great. They are instinctively protective. No matter the situation, they will always put themselves between you and the perceived danger. Great dogs
