This is a good line of questioning actually. He needs to not ask open ended questions, or cut off the witness as he starts rambling though. The witness not seeing Brooks in the car at the time does raise doubt that he was in the car at this time. I mean, we have video of him getting out of and back in the car but I'll give BROOKS this one.

It's good when he limits the witness to a very narrow yes or no question. I think it blows up on him on cross though

Do they even cross? What are they going to ask that matters? Plus it gives BROOKS a chance to redirect.

The judge walking him through this to avoid him coming back later saying he wasn't given a chance despite him dismissing counsel.

This current witness is a piece of work. Shows up to court in a stretched out t shirt. Is this brook’s friend?
He said he took his jacket off. Brooks asks him what that means. Then he says when his jacket comes off there is going to be trouble
