Watched, hard to believe that after 8 murders, they can’t find the killer in such a small town, sheriff lost his election afterwards

That shop rite.
I also stop at the Darrels there sometimes when on way to BR or NOLA. In less than a half hour I can get a special, piss, and be back on the interstate.

I started reading the book.. It is some crazy shite.
And the thing about it, is that that's not the only place where police would take drugs off the streets then get someone to flip it for them.
This was the late 90s and a guy I was friends with who had got caught with GHB went to jail. He was in there a few months. When he got out, he told me about some dude who was from Orleans parish and how that dude told him that what the police would do.. They knew who was selling and where the hot spots were.
They would bust those people, then plant their own people at those spots. And they would protect them. And they would get half and that if you didn't do everything they wanted you to do, they would arrest you.
I'd seriously like to know how many police departments have police doing shite like this. But the Jennings cops had too many people know about what they were doing.
Look, I appreciate police. We need them and there are many good ones out there, but when you read and hear about shite like this. Sometimes it makes you wonder, when things go on... Does it involve something more than we know about?

Jennings.
Every state has these areas.

Here’s a solution. Quit doing drugs and making poor decisions. They put themselves in these situations.

I’ve lived in the Jennings area for 17 years. Parts of town really are that bad.
And not all the families are trash...though it’s true the girls had their problems.

That sounds great in theory, but most people who are that life was born into it. Poor people with parents who had fricked up lives. It's a cycle. And it doesn't help when the police are involved.

Look, it's "small town USA". A lot of good people and the dirt poor & uneducated. Like anything else, when a story comes out, it perceives that area as a bad place because that's the only thing people from the outside hears about.

Jennings is in one way or another just like every single town that size in Louisiana. Unbelievably trashy, tons of culcha, STDs, bad education, litter, pit bulls, and the general disarray that is Louisiana.

Every city in America no matter how big or small has it's rough/trashy areas. Some are worse than others obviously but the term "wrong side of the tracks" has been around for decades and is based on reality of the divide between the "haves" and "have nots"

I’d love to see what would happen if the government would end Sec 8.

That old Frankie dude and (his bro, who's passed away)in their 50's...they both banged all the girls and gave them cocaine...sketchy as hell...sounds like they did it

Yup, that Frankie Richard looks like a Charles Manson wannabe....As far as the victims were concerned is that all of them had some connection to him whether it be drugs or prostitution..but in a small town, such as it is, there could be others that are likewise..sad..we may never know..

The killer is/was most likely a drifter who traveled along I-10.

Most of us think it's a local or couple of locals that are involved. No doubt people know more than what is being said.

You mean Semmes....the only narc in Jennings who is now the Chief? He knew those girls.
I think one of the girls ODed....they dumped her and he knew about it. Then it happened again, and more people knew about it. Then they started clipping those girls who knew. I think Richard was taking orders from Semmes to keep himself out of prison. All girls in the same circle? Come on, man.

Meth + hurricanes and not rebuilding = South Jennings.

When was that guy diagnosed with cancer? He died in 2014. Did the killings stop after he was diagnosed?
Or did the killings stop when the right witnesses or girls who knew something disappear?

I was there yesterday and confirm it has an above normal level trashy feel.
