If he was drunk and died in a wreck everyone would agree it was his fault. Why are there always excuses made for drug abuse?

Dude was likely on PCP to have kept on trucking after being tased and hit by bean bags. Being a cop in today's world is a thankless job. The fricking criminals have more rights than either their victims or the cops

The family and attorney are terrible people. They're going to potentially financially deviate a police officer because their mentally ill son charged with what looked like a weapon.

No small irony in a cop trying to save a guy and ultimately ending up filling him full of lead.

Some people can't be saved, especially from themselves.

However, a grand jury cleared both Chambliss and Sexton by declining to indict them last week.
Correct decision for cop, and it seems like correct decision for Sexton although maybe some mental health and/or drug addiction help requirement would be better in lieu of jail for Sexton. Not sure if that can be accomplished now without an indictment.

The Sexton family is suing Chambliss and the New Roads Police Department for damages.
Seems like BS and a money grab.

Seems like? Seems?

It’s disgusting. Trying to profit off you’re mentally deranged, drug addled son who appears to have been given every
opportunity to help himself. I hope the officer counter sues for mental suffering from the event and frivolous lawsuit. Sue the family and the attorney.

I will never understand why police departments are not equipped with tranquilizer guns to take care of these situations. They can bring a Rhino or Lion down with one- why not use them in these situations where people have no firearms.
