I got an omega speed master for Christmas/graduation last December.

I would like to add to my collection of watches, but don't want to pony up the 5k+ for a new watch.

Any of the sites that sell fakes any good? Or are they all terrible quality?

Don't buy fakes man. There are a lot of really nice watches out there for not a ton of money.

Orient, Tissot, Squale, Christopher Ward, Oris, Ball...

Just to name a few.

Buy a genuine watch. And vintage is cooler than new.

Find a reputable Jewler and get a vintage Rolex, Omega, Tag or IWC

Look at Marathon as well. Fun hardcore military timepieces. I've got the JSAR auto and love it. Now, if you're a dainty lad, they will swallow your arm (heavy/big watches).

$1300-1400 and worth it.

I wear it much more than my Sub

Besides, you just graduated, so it should be a while before you are able to pony up $5k on frivolous expenses/hobbies. Earn your keep, son!

You should mix up the bands you're wearing the Speedmaster on. That might scratch the itch you're having. Natural or black leather, NATO, canvas...

You should pick a different watch concept like a pilot or a diver for your next watch and start researching. It'll take a long time to find what you really can't live without.

I thought someone had installed live look-in cameras around my estate and this thread was a link to them.

You could see me, but you can't be me.

This especially as an Omega owner yourself, don't buy fakes.

Look up the Urban Gentry on youtube and he'll expalin why fakes are bad.

Also, post a pic of your speedy! Do you like it? I'm considering going after one.

I hope you're thinking about a manual winding movement. They're beautiful in the sapphire sandwich.

I'd like the 3572.5, hesalite on front and sapphire on back. The hesalite makes the dial look cooler.

So you got one of the better watches ever made 5 months ago and now you want to add to that some cheap fakes made with sweat shop labor? For what purpose? Fake watches are for fake people.

If your only concern is the safety of your watch and your Omega is real go to State Farm and get a personal articles policy on it, it'll run you about $45/year.

Why do you really need to spend any kind of big money on a watch?

I get it, it would be nice to have a Submariner* for a few hundred bucks. But those are built with less than questionable means and are often funded by drug cartels, etc. It's really not a good place to spend your money.

I respect your opinion, so this may tip me to sapphire.

Just side by side, i think the hesalite looked a little better. less glare.

Hesalite scratches easily. The only reason it is on the Speedmaster is because it won't shatter in a zero-gravity environment.

Yeah, it also polishes out pretty easily. It just has a cool look to it IMO
