We don't usually call it Cajun Crawfish, but there are actually a number of places with "Cajun" in them that are popular and "Cajun Seafood" on North Claiborne and the other locations are very popular. Also, Mulates is "The Original Cajun Restaurant."
Completely different thing.
A restaurant name is fine.
But you don’t call things “Cajun Jambalaya” or “Cajun gumbo”
Because these things are already Cajun.
It would be like “Chinese General Tso’s Chicken” or “Mexican Enchiladas.”
Doesn’t make any sense

I wonder if the Simpsons writers are trying to make up for their "New Orleans" song from one of their early seasons.
Long before the Superdome
Where the Saints of football play...
Lived a city that the damned call home
Hear their hellish rondelet...
New Orleans!
Home of pirates, drunks and whores
New Orleans!
Tacky overpriced souvenir stores
If you want to go to hell, you should take a trip
To the Sodom and Gomorrah of the Mississip'
New Orleans!
Stinking, rotten, vomiting, vile
New Orleans!
Putrid, brackish, maggotty, foul
New Orleans!
Crummy, lousy, rancid, and rank
New Orleans!

How can they not see this? The developer must be connected to somebody. All the Times-Picayune has left is nola.com being a much better website. If the Advocate improves their website, the TP will have little left.

Central grocery hasn't had that much meat on their sandwich since before Katrina

In New Orleans you have to differentiate Cajun style from others. Especially these two dishes.
This whole discussion is inane since it's mainly done in the case of this song to maintain the cadence.

I wonder if someone is going to ask Homer where he got dem shoes?

I always wondered if one of the writers was a local; over the years there have been numerous references to Louisiana and New Orleans in the show.
David Silverman is a writer and producer on the show and directed the Simpsons movie. He spends a lot of time here (he is a musician and is friends with a few musicians down here) and co-wrote this episode.

Overrated. Parkway or Verti Marte all day.
Well fine and good (although I think Parkway is overrated and overpriced), but there were plenty of places on there that were more tourist-trappy and definitely "overrated."

damn dude, it's just so much wrong....
Cajun vs Creole Jambalaya is a thing.
Cajun vs Creole gumbo is a thing.
The thing is, you are the outsider trying to call others outsiders. lol
Ascension/Livingston =/= NOLA
General Tso's isn't from China and Enchiladas are from Texas.

Isn't that at Tulane and Broad?

ending walking out of Commander's and not having their famous bread pudding souffle' included in the bit is blasphemous.

Toledano/Washington and Broad.
Had some elementary kids get shot out front a couple years ago. Forgot the whole story, but some guy lost his shite and started shooting at them.

Motherfricker I’ve placed in statewide gumbo competitions.
Anything i’ve Ever tried called “Cajun Gumbo” has been oversalted, overseasoned bullshite.
You make a duck and andouille gumbo.
A turkey and sausage gumbo.
A seafood gumbo.
Creole gumbo is right out with Their damn tomatoes In it. Just make a sauce piquant.
Gumbo is a staple of Cajun Cooking, but calling something a “cajun gumbo” Doesn’t mean shite in and of itself
