Has the back been open, or is the crown not functioning properly. Been dabbling in Seikos as a part of my watch habit, have yet to get a bad one.
Just picked this one (SBDC055 "PADI Mas") up:

Got another 009 in
Smashed the crown on the bottom of the pool yesterday.
This is ridiculous at this point.

You should probably not wear a watch

At this point, I'm worried if I don't I'll look up at the sun and somehow break it.
Diving from the hot tub to the pool was a rather poor choice.

I've had my 009 for about half a decade and it runs like brand new. What the frick are you doing to these things?

Have had 2 Seiko's since 1968, never had any problems.

Need us to show you how to wear a watch? Seems impossible.

The only thing I can think of is if he's a left wrist/under wrist guy. I genuinely can't come up with another possibility for how the crown would contact the bottom of a pool.

That’s trying to kill a watch though.

Not trying to hijack but how accurate should they be? My 009 is off 3-5 min per day.

That's way outside of spec, which is +40/-25. Have you tried demagnetizing it?
ETA: I haven't actually checked it lately, but if I recall correctly, my 009 is somewhere between +15 and +20.
ETA2: My 009 is currently three seconds behind the Watchville app time. I'll check this time tomorrow and see where I am

Watch was under wrist and usually isn't. It smacked the bottom edge of the grate.
No big deal because I was going to swap it, just thought it worth a laugh.

Sounds like a DVD rewinder. What is this witchcraft.
Please explain for a new watch hobbyist.

Hairspring becomes magnetized, sticks to itself and the increased tension drives the watch to gain several minutes/ day.
Can get a demag machine on Amazon for around ten bucks.

As 19 said, dirt cheap and means you no longer have anxiety walking through airport security, worried that one of the fricking magnets will send your watch spinning.
This is the one I bought years ago:

The seller is no longer offering it, but plenty just like it.
My basic procedure is to put the watch dial down almost-but-not-quite touching the flat blue surface. Push the red button (you'll feel the watch vibrate) and hold there for five to ten seconds, then still holding the red button down, slowly move the watch away (so, upwards) from the device. Repeat with caseback down. If shite has really gotten fricked, try the case on its side.

There is also a free mag field detector app for your phone, helpful in making sure watch is successfully demag'd.
There are several that do the job.
