Franklinton is a nice small town and is growing.

really? Or did you mean replacing? If not for being the parish seat, that town would have died years ago. But yet I have a love/hate for that town.

Died years ago? I doubt that. Compared to what it was 20 years ago it has grown with not a lot of industry to speak of. Bogalusa on the other hand is a crap hole, if that mill ever shuts down its slow demise will speed up.

Born and raised in Bogalusa. Highlight of most years (other than 1969 football state championship) was going to the fair. Haven't been in almost 40 years but it used to be a blast. Moved away soon as I graduated in 1969. Hardly ever go back!

Used to go back in mid 80s when my grandparents were still alive. Family is from Tylertown and this was a big deal to them. My cousins kid won the beauty pageant a few years back.

What is the percentage of people there who pay federal income tax? 4%? 5%?

Grew up in franklinton and lived 3 blocks from grounds. I haven't been back since I graduated high school, but I loved it then. Hell, we got out of school three days for it! Parents still park cars every year and make a little extra money

You're full of shite. I lived in Franklinton for 20+ years and it never once smelled like Bog.

Anybody ever check out the Wild Woman exhibit? I wanted to but I was just a kid and my parents wouldn't let me.
