My friends non-trashy wife is going tomorrow for the first time by invite. She is from Nola and lives in mandeville now. Don't think she knows what she has gotten herself invited to.

I was there all day Wednesday for the parade and then fair festivities until 8pm.

During the day should be fine. Seems like the darker it gets the scarier it gets.
And I'm actually taking about the white river rat creatures not black people. From what I've seen the black people around Franktown are pretty nice and polite.

I was there Tuesday night with the Mrs. For the fair queen contest and saw some visiting Queens from other fairs and festivals and believe me, the Washington parish fair queen is very close to the top.

We went yesterday. It was a good experience for the family.
My parents go every year. We were in town for fall break and had a chance to go.
I give it a 7 out of 10 type experience.

Agree with the concept presented here that most fair queens had some actual talent or work ethic apparently because they ain't usually built on looks

I know someone who recently moved to Franklinton from NOLA. They love it. His wife said she feels like she is living in Mayberry. They love the small town atmosphere.

Franklinton is a nice small town and is growing. I don't get the usual hate for it on here. Bogalusa on the other hand..
