Was the fall of public decency accelerated by the War on Karens?

The use of speakerphone/facetime calls, Bluetooth speakers blasting vulgar lyrics, marijuana odor, etc. in public places where they don’t belong have clearly elevated over recent years. Nobody likes a Karen, but it seems that the blatant disregard of common courtesy has spiked since the public shaming of Karens and Karen-like behavior began in the not-too-distant past.

There are some Karens that definitely take things too far, but have we overcorrected too much in the opposite direction? When a predator is removed from an ecosystem, the ecosystem can become unbalanced when the prey begins eating more plants or smaller animals. Were Karens the natural predator to the lack of public decency? Were they the ostracized heroes that were bringing balance to our civilized society?
