I don't know, was it necessary for those bastards to sucker punch dive bomb Pearl Harbor when we weren't even involved?

The thing is I’m not sure if Pearl Harbor was in the Top 10 of the worst things the Japanese did. It was at least a military base.

Pretty valid reason imo. It sucks for the Japanese people that died, but the show of force was likely necessary for solidifying US power in the region and deterring a second large scale war between the US/west and the Soviets.

which is all fine, i just don't like the mindless belief that the US has always been squeaky clean.

I did. I read/browsed all of your links.

There are plenty of people who disagree with the bombings, but many of them have competing arguments themselves. People argue Russia's involvement forced Japan's surrender, and that without it, the Japanese would have continued to fight after both bombs.

So we should have let them bomb us and us run like pussies?

If someone slaps you in the face, you punch them in the mouth.

Under the rules of war that existed at that particular period of time, we were.

No. We should have closed all our businesses for a day to do sensitivity training.

Allow me to frame this for you in OT BAW talk....if we are both talking to an OT7 and words are exchanged, I’m at sonic walk in ordering an ocean water and you sneak me with an ear shot and as I lay on the ground and witness you drive off with your plant operator F250 with truck nuts leave the parking lot....After I recover, wreck the OT7 with a vengeance and happen to be at sonic and you drive up, I’m not going to NOT drag you out of that F250 and beat you to sleep, just cause I know I can. I’m going to do it so the next time you think about sneaking me, that pain you felt and likely still feel will change your mind about testing me. It’s confirms my alpha status....something like that!

Hearing it and being open to it are two very differnet things.

Your certainty that those bombs didn't save a single American life show just how ignorant you are.

So we saved 8 weeks. Oh, “and in all probability”

You know how many US soldiers would have been killed if we would have gone to war with Japan? A LOT.

I don't know how to tell you this, so I'm just going to come out with it.

We actually were at war with Japan, for years. And a lot of US soldiers did die.

yes

it saved thousands of lives on both sides. And when Japan attacked the USA, w/o the declaration of war, it made it a terrorist attack, thus the USA had any and all powers to take care of Japan.

And in the end, they did
