Mac and Me YouTube Clip

I never had a fun experience like this at a McDonald's.

Except when they had those bad arse Jack O Latern Happy Meals during October in the 80's.

Just wait this thread has everything that is OT. Baby Boomers, McDonald's, 80's Nostalgia, light skin black folk, hip hop dancing, and the OT Best Friends. It will be an OT Classic.

If baby boomers love anything it's shitty knockoffs like Mac and Me.

Baby Boomers peaked at Woodstock. It’s been a precipitous decline from that point

I’m confused, wouldn’t the kids who that movie was marketed toward be more X gen than baby boomer?

I'm more pointed to the brand worhsiping throughout the film. And the general cheesiness of the film, like a 1950s teen flick.

So, I take it that you’re of the opinion that brand worshiping is now dead?

Yeah I remember seeing that movie specifically because my mom (boomer) brought it home for me and my sister from blockbuster because she thought it looked nice. Definitely marketed to boomers. No kid saw that movie and said “ooh, want!”

All fun and games for the boomers until they killed the economy in 2008.

That’s just corporatism, and quite honestly, it’s difficult for me to get my mind around the idea that this generation has divorced themselves of brands and marketing when there have never been more brands, chains, and chain addicted people who keep it all afloat than right now. I don’t see that as the fault of the 60, 70, and 80 somethings. Truthfully, we had many more locally owned establishments in the 80’s than we do today, and the further you go back in time, the more locally owned you will get.
