Was Fired: Employer wants me to give password to work phone.

He says that any information on the phone is the property of the company and that I need to provide the password so they can access it. He told me that if I don't, he'll get a court order to make me give the password up.
Is this an invasion of my privacy?

If it's a work phone, I'm pretty sure you have to comply

It's their property. Unfortunately, you may be SOL.

If serious, you probably signed off on a policy when you got employed agreeing to what he's telling you. You're not going to win.

I think there was a recent case on this issue. A guy was fired and his laptop or phone had cp on it.

but in the apple case, the employer gave permission to the FBI to use any means necessary to access the contents his company's locked phone, so i figured i could just ride this out in the same way.
since apple wont let the employer access the phone in that case
phone is an iphone 5c
ill just say i forgot the password. they cant prove otherwise

What's the point of withholding that info, unless you have something to hide which supports the justification to fire you...
Give it up and move on, take the high road, your next job could come from their referral...
