The OP is the deceased own relative and he doesn't even know what the frick happened. Yet you know exactly what happened. How about you fill us in?
His wife's nephew was killed on Tulane ave late last night at 2:45. He was going home back to Baton Rouge and and was driving on the wrong side of the street (they don't know if he was drunk or not) and ran head on with a ambulance and died on the spot.
seems pretty avoidable to me.

whatever, i get a little stirred up when things like this happen to first responders. sounds like it was a pretty avoidable accident.

He was 25 and him and his friends had a hotel room but for whatever reason they all decided to go back to Baton Rouge and he was by himself in the car and we are all wondering why nobody rode with him or if he was drunk why nobody try to stop him. I just feel bad for my sister in law and all my wife's family and she is heartbroken she can't go see him today.

What if someone walked out in front of him and he swerved to avoid hitting them?

what makes the condition of his nephew more important that the people in the ambulance? because he is a poster here? shouldn't the compassion be for the innocent people harmed by the accident.
you know what? nevermind, im out.

very possible.

I never said my nephew in law was more important then the people in the ambulance. All I know is he is dead and we don't know anything about the ambulance crew or if there was a patient or not. All I was asking if anybody was in the area of the time or heard anything about it in New Orleans since we are in baton rouge.

Terrible, I lost my son two years ago when he was 20 and it's a pain that will never end. Try to do the best you can to support your family thru this tough time. God bless you guys, there is nothing sadder that can happen to a family or a mom.
And screw the asses in this thread. They don't know anything but are assuming what happened. Maybe he made a bad choice that was life ending or maybe he didn't. It's not gonna change the way his mom will feel about it and the depths of grief his family will go thru.

It was wholly inappropriate for you to express your opinion in this thread. The OP lost a loved one and you dive in criticizing. In THIS thread, the rest doesn't much matter. Learn to exercise some restraint.
OP, I'm really sorry to hear of your loss. I hope y'all are able to find out what happened. I know his mother wants some answers to her questions even though it won't change the outcome. Has anyone been able to get in touch with his friends who were with him in New Orleans?

Wtf!?!
I promise if someone cracked you up side the head right for being a dumb arse, you would get absolutely zero sympathy, and probably a few cheers
Hey OP, sorry for your loss! Hope y'all get some closure

Only responding to say I wish you displaced yourself out of this thread. Sounds like you already took the hint.

It could be considered a holiday. Our office takes today as a holiday because can't really get into cbd and works Memorial Day.
