I think Original thread mentioned seeing cops at the house where the trailer was parked (I could be mistaken though)?
If that were the case, and he was caught red-handed, would the owner have been able to be paid off and dropped the charges? Can you drop felony charges once you report them and the cops see evidence? Seems the cops would have a duty to arrest once they know a crime has been committed. Something’s fishy.

Well this outcome was disappointing.
Bubba is gonna steal someone’s stuff next home game guaranteed.
Not to mention, he is going to learn from this and will be harder to catch next time.

Right. He need not come back to the OT for help ever again.

Can I get a quick synopsis of what happened? I guess I wasn't online that day.
I'm disappointed to say that I missed the thread also, but it sounds like it got pretty wild.
SpeckledTrout got his trailer stolen, someone found it on Facebook Marketplace for sale, TD investigators got right on it, found the guy, applied the appropriate amount of harassment for the situation, and got perp to turn the trailer back over to the victim.
Speckled is catching flack for not really following up on the situation. Could be legal reasons for that or he could be afraid of consequences from the OT's antics from the night.
I've seen some of the wild threads on OT and it can get hilariously almost out of control. I can only imagine what happened this night.

The whacked thread kinda crossed the line into cyber-bullying.
So it’s OK to steal a trailer and sell the goods in it but not to cyber bully the turd who did it? Sticks and stones false equivalency.

Dude has never really seemed to be very appreciative of the awesome detective work the OT did for them.
That's what strikes me about this, as well.
I imagine myself in OP's shoes, just fricking livid about losing my trailer, and just decide to post it on the OT as a Hail Mary. Lo and behold, 8 hours later, they find my trailer, the thief, my stuff for sale?!?! Man, I would be trying to meet up IRL with the main OT players to buy them dinner or say thank you in person. Hell, invite them to a tailgate! At bare minimum, you post a huge thank you thread.
Not this dude, though...he gets his shite back, barely shows any appreciation, doesn't press charges, and is still trying not to mention specifics of the case. There's no other way to read it than this is one ungrateful, self-centered a-hole the OT helped out. What a shame.

Yeah, something's not adding up. OP is hiding something.

yep, I'd be livid, I'd have to have the cops go with me to prevent me from going to jail, then I'd throw the OT detectives a bash of tay tay proportion

Might have been an insurance scam with the original poster.

We need our OT hero to drive by and see if the graffiti is still there.

That would explain it. But, OP would have to have an IQ lower than Bubba to ask the OT for help if that was the case.
