My mother is the queen of click bait on email spam. Several times I found that she paid "Microsoft" to fix her computer. After the recent ransomware epidemic I turned off her computer so she cant get do anything.
Its sad when it happens to your parent, and frustrating for them that you have to take care of them, but its a fight we have almost daily.

I've gotten the "a warrant is out for your arrest, please call us ASAP" call a couple of times.
I have had that one before but told them I would give them a call back when I got done burying a body. They hung up quick.

I got a phone call two weeks ago. I have a discover card and I have their number saved to my phone. The caller Id showed discover but when I answered they started asking all kinds of questions that I wouldn't answer. I eventually hung up and called discover. They said it was a scam and the scammers had somehow gotten the ability to get discovers number to show on the caller Id to seem legit. They said that discover never calls and asks for account numbers or personal info

I got one yesterday. Publishers clearing house letting me know I'd won.
As I haven't entered one of those in at least 20 years I played along. When he got to the point he just needed my banking information to get the money transferred.
I asked him then "Do you honestly find people dumb enough to give you that?"
The sound of him hanging up was the only reply

Anyone ever gotten one from a warranty department for a car they don't even own? Those are my favorite

Yeah just recently. I have a 3 month old truck and apparently my warranty has already expired.

I love the one where the goat phucckers from the middle east call and tell me they are the IRS and I owe 1800 smackers, I play along, so sorry and need to take care of this, ask them how can I pay? The. They think they have me, can pay by credit card. Then I say Ohhh no, this is serious, I will just go to nearest IRS office and pay in person. Work fhem a bit, and then they get mad I will not pay, then they start getting belligerent. Tell them Ii know they are scam artist and cuss Their prophet. They lose their shite over that.
Eventually hangup, then call them back.i have had the phuckkers to then block my number. I hate these people!

I think the ones that are the lowest form of humanity (and I use that term loosely)are the ones that call the surviving spouse right after the funeral.
My mother passed away last August and Dad was receiving scam calls within a week after the announcement in the local paper. Yes, that is where they got his information and all that called were very heavy foreign accents. I think they were Oriental, Middle Eastern, and Caribbean.

I get calls 2-3 times a day now. I usually don't answer, but if I have time I'll sit there and have some fun with them. The ones that call the most are pretending to be Microsoft and telling me my computers been hacked. I don't have even have a PC

I was getting calls from heather with account services every day. I answered and tried to waste their time once, now they still call but they don't even answer. I guess I pissed off the scammer and they set up their program to auto call me but not bother with the scam?

Every fricking day. I haven't owned the truck in 3 years it has gotten to the point that if the name doesn't come up on my caller id, I let it ring. If it is important then they will leave a voicemail.

I get these crazy calls all the time. Now, I just don't answer the phone. Everybody that knows me know to call my cell phone. I want to kill my house phone, but can't due to a heart monitor hooked up to it.
Another one is that I been getting calls on my cell from way out of state. I never answer that phone unless I know the in coming number.

i feel ur anger, but we also have legit companies(cable companies are the worst) who prey on the elderly here, and No one bats an eye at it.
We should be putting a stop to all of it, not just the scammers. These companies do it, are proud of it, and no one says a fricking word.
