What's wild is the wife of the slain trooper is suing and sounds like she should. Check this out:
"According to Attorney Sam Bregman, who is representing Gabriella Jarrott, Officer Jarrott was not informed of the situation he was walking into.
“Homeland Security agents asked Officer Jarrott to pull over a car, when they knew the occupant of the vehicle was a known violent felon with semi automatic weapons and large amount of drugs inside the vehicle, they did so without telling Officer Jarrott of any of this,” Bregman said.
Bregman said the family of Officer Jarrott wants to hold Homeland Security and New Mexico State Police responsible for omissions that may have led to his death."

"Pistol" is used loosely in describing these IMO.
They just say that to use the ATF's own definitions and policies against them

wish he had a different approach dealing with him. I would not be comfortable if I wa Steve trooper letting the guy get out the car with his weapon.
The sad thing is that the shooter had been under surveillance by HSI (ICE). They knew he was on his way to Las Cruces, allegedly for a drug deal, and enlisted the help of NM State Police to pull him over on I-10, presumably to avoid an apprehension in a residential area that could have innocent bystanders.
Officer Jarrott was merely assisting HSI.
You can see them in one of the videos rolling up to the scene within a minute of the shooting as he is bleeding out on the side of the road.
HSI then pursued the shooter 40 miles east on I-10, Las Cruces PD had cleared the highway and set up a spike strip. Shooter hit it and lost control of his truck, it stopped, and he jumped out gun blazing at the LCPD officer on his tail. That officer was hit and suffered non-life threatening injuries. Several officers (local and feds I believe) unloaded on the shooter and sent him straight to hell.
An amigo working on a road parallel to I-10 happened to catch all of that on video.

We are in the midst of war.
Most don't yet see it.

Anyone who votes the same as these people can get fricked

That is horrendous. I'm glad the murderer was put down saving the taxpayers money on his worthless life.
Why was the officer on that side of the truck? I always thought the officer was supposed to approach from the diver's side and stand at the B pillar so the driver can't see him/her from behind. A similar thing happened in Georgia back in the 90s and to this day they still use that dashcam footage for training. Controlling the driver by the proper approach and positioning is critical.

quote:I know your head is too thick to get this, but the people in this thread are legal, responsible gun owners who understand a weapon is simply a tool. They can separate what happened to Trooper Jarrott and still discuss gun ownership. Unlike what happens daily in Chicago.

Gotta love the OT. Horrific video of a guy shooting a cop in cold blood, and the conversation eventually turns into "how do I get me one of dem gunz?"
Because we, unlike you...understand guns aren't humans and aren't responsible for anything.
Your ideology is based on fairy tales and estrogen.

We realize this is more testosterone than you've encountered in several years, so we'll take it easy on you.

Should never have been in a position to approach without backup.
But evidently the feds fricked up.
