You'd have to commute to Vidalia though....which is clearly a reasonable trade off for the cultural amenities offered by the Ferriday metropolitan area

Syrah Technologies, headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, is retaining 19 employees and creating 36 direct new jobs with average annual salaries of $69,000, plus benefits, according to today’s announcement.

The project gives Louisiana a supply chain foothold in the rapidly expanding market for electric vehicle components produced in the U.S., state officials say.

The company plans to add 180,000 square feet to its existing 50,000-square-foot facility, enough to install equipment and systems for processing natural graphite into active anode material used in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles.

They’ve come to the right place. Ferriday is filled to the brim with hardworking non-idle citizens.

Vidalia is alright. Most of Concordia Parish is alright. You could live on the lake and it would be pretty nice.

I would love to live about 30 miles South of Vidalia. Concordia Parish is my kind of place.

That’s really, really rural. When I go though that area I lose cell reception for miles.

I bet you can see the stars though. Not much out there which of itself is appealing.

You could commute 30 miles out there like nothing.

This is pretty damned good for that area. They won't have any trouble finding able bodied folks willing to commute from Natchez or Sicily Island.

Some people love that shite. I'm in Natchez very often and a couple of times a year I like to take the 'back way' home and will go through Vidalia on down to New Roads and to the Audubon Bridge. My mom's side of family has roots in that area.

It's VERY rural.

Why are my residence options limited to Ferriday?

Why not just live in Vidalia where the site is being built?

That's great. One could live a pretty comfortable life in Natchez on that.

You could live in Deer Park but I would recommend having alternative means of transportation.

To explain, this is a low lying area on the river. All the houses are about 2-3 floors above the ground on stilts.

But Ferriday is still not the only town in that vicinity that doesn't require a house built on stilts. I can't imagine the commute from Natchez would be too bad.

I wouldn’t want to live in Natchez these days. Was not happy to spend time there when the wife still lived there.

Vidalia isn’t really much better though both are a step above Ferriday. Which is like saying a finger amputation is better than losing a whole arm.
