Owasso, OK - A Talala woman has been arrested for leaving her 1-year-old child in a hot vehicle for nearly an hour on Owasso. The 38-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday evening after Owasso police say pedestrians saw her child in a parked car outside a Wal-Mart Supercenter. A police report says the child was left alone for about 45 minutes in a car that reached internal temperatures of 120 to 138 degrees. The child was transported to St. John Medical Center in Owasso for treatment, and was released into the custody of the child's father.According to the report, the suspect told officers she forgot the child was in the car when she went into the store.

Shitty mother, but awesome job by the police to tell her the baby died and make her feel like shite

Intentional infliction of emotional distress. First actual possibly viable case I've ever seen other than in a law school text book.

After all the outrage and attention this has gotten over the last couple of years, I simply cannot understand how anyone leaves their child or pet in a vehicle anymore.

True. I hope the jury gives her a verdict and awards her $1

They forget. Smart mothers leave a shoe or their purse in the back with the kid.

We wish.

Reality: She will win a few hundred K, blow it on a nice house and car, and end up working the street to pay for her new lifestyle once the money runs out. Kids will be left at home with no sitter.

What is the first thing she said? "Did you hear?" "Did you get her?" - can't quite make it out.

She wasn't letting go of her Walmart groceries to go running to her child. Tells me a good bit.

I find it difficult to believe that neither she nor her daughter of a reasonable age remembered there was a child in the car, though unlike another story I saw today in which the mom left all 4 windows cracked with the child in the car. No way she didn't leave that child intentionally.
