Most of these guys are probably making in the 50k-60k range unless they are driving literally everyday. Averaging 40mph they'd have to be driving 2500 hours to make the 89k. I'm not familiar with the specifics but I'm pretty sure there are limits on the hours you csn drive in a day so they would have to be absolutely maxing out to get anywhere near that.
And as soon as the economy takes a downturn they won't have a job, but let's keep acting like unskilled labor is better than getting educated

Walmart logistics tracking is state of the art. Drivers and equipment is tracked down to the mile and minute. Litigation trends using GPS logs citing driver fatigue is how the large awards are given you read about. Walmart and other gigantic carriers take hours and miles per day extremely serious.

I used to work for a major transportation carrier, Walmart has some of the strictest hiring practices if anyone in the business. There’s a reason that their drivers make so much money.

It's simple math, I just took the time to do it. 60k for someone who probably has no education is nothing to scoff at, but if they hire 1,000 people 10 may make more than 80k.

I took the stated pay and mileage rate and divided it, riveting and complicated stuff. I'm not sure how it's controverial

Walmart ships merchandise millions upon millions of miles each year, if we hear about one fatal accident is say that's a pretty big success.

I can point out I work in the transportation industry and know people that hire drivers for WM and the 80 to 90k a year is definitely true. They dont hire average truck drivers to these jobs. WM is picky to say the least.
