You dont lose your walmart driver job unless you do something to loss it yourself.
Walmart keeps their drivers on pedestals, and one of the most aggressive new tech fleets in the industry. Good drivers that dont jump around have it made. it's like one of the pinnacle gigs in trucking driving.

Did you factor in the money some drivers get paid for helping load and unload the trailers?

Less consumption, less inventory moving, less need for drivers. Pretty damn simple. They aren't going to keep paying people to move product if it's not being sold

You don't know what you're talking about w respect to the pay vs their strict policies. We are talking down to average speed, max speed, distance, hours, etc etc. You can't sidestep their policies. Do and you're expendable. 90k for WM, JB Hunt etc is a good wage.

Guys, we need to tell the high ups at Walmart to slow down hiring cuz mingo thinks they wont be able to afford these wages...

For my specific example, no, and as I stated they'll probably all be in atlest in the 50-60k range for just the driving. Taking time to load or unload the trucks is an oppurtunity cost as it's time you can't spend driving so that has to be factored into that amount earned. And according to the DOT unloading the truck puts you on duty and starts your 14 hour clock so we have to factor that into total mileage available as well.

When did I say it wasn't? You're attacking me for no reason. The entire premise of my post was to get to 90k you are going to have to drive almost every available hour, that's just factually true given the pay rate, it's simple math

Every truck driver starts their clock when they help unload shite or shuttle trailers

But you clearly dont understand the pay rate then. They get paid ABOVE market rate because they're above average. This is like comparing your average welder to one who does specialized work offshore. One gets paid a hell of a lot more.

Are you advocating just not following DOT rules or just saying Walmart doesn't enforce them? Either way both seem like a bad stategy. I'll stand by what I said, in order to make 90k you are going to have to be on the road on almost every available hour.
