There are 100 walgreens in phoenix area. If he offered to send it there immediately, he followed policy and she is just whining.

He knows enough about the medication. It is his specialty after all. He only went through 6+ years of education for it.

She said the pharmacist told her he wouldn't fill it that she could return the next day and the pharmacist on that day would fill it. She also said the pharmacist offered to her right then to send the prescription to another location that would fill it. So sounds like he did follow policy.

Surprise surprise...a lot of posters jumping to conclusions only to wind up wrong.

Understandable...but...it doesn't mean that rules and policies get bent around to your liking.

She said on CNN that the pharmacist offered to send the prescription to another location to be filled. Her story on CNN vs the article vs her fb post...don't match. She is saying different things in each one.

thanks man

it is past us now (hopefully), but April was a rough month because we tried the medicine first, and we thought it worked, but then a month later my wife had issues and we found out she still had tissue left over and it was infected and she had to have the surgery anyways

not fun times

Ok, but thats not terribly relevant to the point.

If he didnt have access to her records, what did he base his decision on? How can you ethically make a determination with no information about the patient? Or does he as a pharmacist just have a blanket prohibition on giving out this drug to everyone?

And a day or two after taking that medication no less. You know..that medication is no picnic. I only had to take one pill...can only imagine taking more than one.

I am sorry about your loss btw. Life is just unfair isn't it? Makes you mad to see junkies and deadbeat parents get pregnant so easily and pop out kid after kid.

He asked if she was pregnant and she said yes.

how would he know if she was telling the truth if she said no?

for him to be consistent, he would have to deny this prescription to everyone

He wouldn't. He is being consistent. He would deny it to anyone that said they were pregnant. You think he's just picking on her for some reason?

I think I found the problem -i.e. miscommunication

My wife had a miscarriage fairly recently too, and was not able to be in a right mind for a long time.

A better way to handle this eould have been to ask her why she was prescribed this medication- or call the doctor and ask.

Eta2- she was telling the truth when she said she was pregnant (before the miscarriage)

Not really. The justification that you are giving him is that he didn't know if she was telling the truth concerning the pregnancy.

No, the justification is that he doesn't have her records that show the fetus is dead. For all he knows he could be participating in a live abortion.

It's a good thing he wasn't serving chicken.

You should ask Chicken to change your name to CommieDawg. The truth will set you free.

One would think this could be cleared up by calling the doctor.
