A no vote means it isn’t renewed, so it’s going back into my pocket unless a new proposal comes along that we vote yes on.

So many of you don’t understand this simple fact.

Since polls are about to close I’m going to say one more thing about thrive:
I just found out Chauna Banks is against it. Makes me realize my vote for yes this morning was absolutely the right thing to do.

Note what I said dumbass.

You just don’t want your taxes to go up in BR. I get it. I’d vote yes if I lived in BR.

St George exists for a reason. Same with Central and Zachary.
Get rid of the city/parish fund.
Have a city fund.
Have a parish fund. Problem solved.

A no vote and the surplus isn’t going anywhere.

A no vote on the library and the library will not be funded unless another election is held and the tax passes.

I live in SG and I am glad that we more control of where some of our sales tax goes. If I lived in BR I’d want the same thing.

BR and SG are in the same parish. I want the parish to do well too. We in SG receive these parish wide services:

Sheriff
Parks
Library
Sewer
Mosquitto
EMS
DA
Prison
Stormwater

We also have a huge parish wide road plan.

Why does anyone want BR to go down?

Yeah. That’s what I voted for.

Which is why they tied it to the library renewal. It’s by design to pass. You do realize this?

And if it fails, there will be another library tax vote without any money going into the general fund. Don’t worry.

Sure they did so the surplus could be used on stuff other than library functions.

Would you rather it just sit there and keep piling up? Go to several more libraries? Or what?

I don’t. Why would I want that?

I simply want them to pay for their own shite.

Do you not understand how the city/parish general fund works and how we have dedicated PARISH taxes for these things you said:

Sheriff
Parks
Library
Sewer (cities pay for this)
Mosquitto
EMS
DA
Prison (parish prison, not the renovation at the BR police office at the old women’s hospital)
Stormwater

Why don’t we take some money from the library and give it to Zachary for them to use how they see fit on their city?

We don’t get City of BR police services. Which is most of the debt.

But the die is cast. We will know soon.

No, it wasn’t. It was “tied” to the Library tax renewal for the political reality that it kept the Library Board from mobilizing its army of Karens and soccer moms to vote against the Thrive Plan.

It’s one of the reasons St. George representative Dwight Hudson called the Thrive vote a COMPROMISE.

Just because you call it a compromise doesn’t mean it doesn’t stink like shite. The Nazis called the gas chamber a shower. Words don’t mean jack shite. Reality does.

Trust me bro! Right?

Muh too long a ballot measure.

It is parish debt, right? Wrong?
Who is obligated to pay it?

What the hell does that have to do with how this money is being said it will be used, and why some of us or voting no?

If they come up with a new proposal that says the library wants a renewal at 7 mills instead of 11, I’d vote yes for that, and they’d have enough money to operate like normal.

I believe Zachary will see direct benefit,
Why is their mayor for it?

And you don’t seem to understand, if BR declined our parish services will decline unless we raise taxes to make up for tgrir shortfall.
