Had one. Loved it. As others have said, the third row is really tight. We went with something bigger because of the space, but I loved that thing.,

The 90 feels a little more solid and rides better. You sit higher in the 90 and the seats are much more comfortable.

Volvo’s used to be a tank...I grew up with 3 Volvo’s in the Fam when they were boxy as hell but pretty bulletproof. I’ve heard that reliability has gone way down hill with newer models, even though they look damn good now! I really like the handsome Scandinavian design... Still THE most comfortable Seats on the market.

I really like mine.

What i don't like are a couple of small things (2017)

No sunglass holder
As you scroll through radio stations (sirius) once you get to the top/bottom of screen...the screen doesn't continue scrolling with you.
Voice recognition is junk ( but there are easy to use buttons that do what you need)
I have never used park assist.
Sensus screen is a little slow at start up
Heated seats are either hot on level 3 or indistinguishable on 2 or 1

What i like
Solid ride
I can Lower the headrests in the back with a autmatically from the driver seat ( if no one is back there)
Its a volvo. So it's safe. I think they are 8 or 9 yrs now with out a major injury /fatality in an xc90 ( in US).
Once i got used to the seats...i really like them ..extremely comfortable
The driver assist /lane assist ( especially when engaged for stop and go traffic)

Whats..alright.
Acceleration. I have a T6 i didn't buy it to smoke the tires or do donuts...it. With 4cyl it will get me on the interstate and easily do 78 cruising. I don't tow anything and i live in FL..so only incline is a bridge ( no ability to comment on hills/mtns)
Got 30ish mpg on last trip

Owned by Chinese now but they're really nice cars and suv's.

They look good.

I can see that. The cars are effectively the same as far as mechanicals go, hence the SPA. Bigger tires and wheel base makes a difference, and we didn’t get upgraded seats from the Inscription trim level.

I have no complaints. took it on a long road trip and the damn thing just about drives itself. ownership is a little expensive for maintenance. I lease one for her as she typically likes and upgrade every three or four years anyway. that covers all the maintenance

....doesnt compute

You just have to unscrew the driver’s side oh-shite handle and install the OEM sunglass holder.

I even installed it in our XC60 by using the brackets off of the handle. The photos are all blonde interior, but if you read the descriptions they have all colors.

You can find anything you want on the net, it’s the safest to it’s not. The IHS crash ratings are good, though they say the headlights are just adequate. Crash avoidance is the new thing, and that’s VERY tough to measure.

My wife hit a 200 lb deer going 60+ and the vehicle reacted incredibly. Volvo was talking to her within seconds. They control the e-brake remotely and didn’t unlock the vehicle to move until they heard from police on the scene.

It’s likely as good as any of the competition in avoidance and crash rating, but combining the two would be difficult.

He asked for links to dispute his claim as "Volvo is the safest vehicle on the road", I merely obliged.

If one wants to argue that the IIHS.... the Gold Standard of vehicle crash safety ratings... are subjective and "Fake News", by all means have at it.

Well technically Volvo would have to BE in the list to use the list as a data point, you just pointed to ones where they weren’t. (I didn’t look at them to verify)

We turn some of the avoidance features off and we did not opt for the vision package and some other safety package I can’t remember. The point is...they look cool and are unique...and are good enough to consider in the $50-$70k price range.

Wife loves her 60. Has about 55k miles on it so far.

she works from home a lot so mileage isn't a big issue for us.

You need to be close enough to a dealer for service. They update the vehicles software almost every time we’ve brought it in. Subtle changes...but still. We’re at least an hour and a half away from a dealer...so that sucks.

Just ordered ours online.

Yeah cause when you slam into a tree @ 50 miles per hour those slightly dimmer headlights are really going to come into play

You asked for links, I provided valid links. Sorry you didn't like the evidence you requested.

Maybe next time try to research before making outlandish claims.
