I thought it was those conservatives that hated porn and net neutrality. Huh. TIL.
While I am against the idea of the taxation, I would love for it to move forward some.
The uniting of different factions would be welcome, since we disagree on so much. Not to mention the huge financial coffers of the porn industry that would be unloaded to fight it.
We let the littlest details drive a huge wedge between us, but tits and arse will bring all men back together. It is why God made women so pretty

Like the conservative who proposed this bill?

Here you have a law that if passed would basically go against the very core of NN
Key words. Plus I'm not sure quasi censoring websites stands up to the first amendment.
Either way, it's not the same as ISPs throttling speeds on tax payer funded lines. I don't see how a law preventing ISPs from fricking over the people who paid for their lines is such a bad thing?

Lawmakers: You may have to start paying the state to watch porn. There is a new bill being proposed in Virginia that would lock all pornographic sites from your phones and computers, and the only way to unlock them is to pay the state $20.
JBE will form a committee of his cronies to come up with some fictitiously absurd revenue amount if LA did this, enact it and then raise it to $30 when those revenues fall short of the projection.

Will that $20.00 protect you from Malware? That may be worth it if so.

Revenue from the tax will fall short. Most people don't like being on lists, especially when they are associated to topics like this.
In related news, amazon's porn section is going to blow up, someone is going to start a netflix delivery style porn company, and can't wait for RedTubeBox to pop up at all the Walgreens.

Virginia has voted Democrat in the last couple statewide/national elections. The Washington suburbs are filled with government bureaucrats with much to lose by smaller government, Democrats and Republicans, alike.
Draining the Swamp is a threat to many of these folks.

Oh great, a Republican trying to legislate their own set of morality. The arch-conservative christian set needs to just separate and establish their own party.
