Hahahaha now that’s a blunder I’ll admit to! Pugh is my buddy’s last name, I guess I typed that out of habit!

1. Where are you getting your facts? You’re wrong. Pugh research center states that “90% of Americans believe in some type of higher power.”

2. Old Testament? No. New Testament? Yes, I believe the majority of them.

3. Again, you’re full of shite. Pugh research states that only 17% of scientists are atheists, 11% agnostic and 20% are “nones.” So, only 17% completely REJECT the possibility of a higher power.

4. Personal opinion... I really don’t consider any of them to be right or wrong. Religion is a very personal thing.

As I said, believe what you want, but to completely reject the idea of a creator is absurd imo.

Pew is a religious organization... That is like going to CNN to find out about Republicans. Several other studies show much different numbers.
It's insane to think someone lived in a whale or turned water into wine... Just my opinion.
I'm going to leave it at this, I have a conscience and refuse to pick apart religion. I'd rather someone keep their faith if that's what keeps them living a fulfilling life.

Totally respect this. Differing opinions I guess. I don’t take the Bible 100% seriously and I don’t know many people who do. I’m a lot more spiritual than I am Christian. But either way, the possibility of a creator of some sort is just so certain for me that I can’t comprehend how atheists can’t at least have an open mind for that?

It was never the miracles. It was his ability to forgive sin that’s even more unbelievable.

If there is a God, and he chose to incarnate himself through Jesus Christ, then he can do anything he wants.

And then there were witnesses...uh oh. And then many people stubbornly proclaimed his resurrection until it lead to their very own horrible death. They could have denied him. Peter, who DID deny him three times would later die upside down on a tree because he did not consider himself worthy to die in the same manner as his Savior.

And 2,000 years later, people are still unwilling to deny him. They die every day.

Read the Gospels again. I dare you.

Jesus was God, or Jesus was a total fraud. See if he sounds fraudulent to you in the Gospels. Compare him to “pastors” that value power and wealth.
And if he’s not a fraud. Wow...

Yep, we are definitely the closed minded ones, with our arrogant “well, I haven’t found evidence that convinced me of the existence of a god, so I guess I won’t actively believe in one” lunacy. You have such an amazingly open mind, it has basically bent back onto itself to the point where you simply can’t conceive that anyone would think differently than you do. Honestly, that must be an incredible burden for you to bear. I can’t fathom the depth of your patience with us while we victimize you over and over by daring not to believe something you believe. You are truly what saints are made of.

Look all around you, there’s evidence everywhere. Look at how fine tuned everything is, just right for life. You sound depressed bro!

Pew research center is funded by the Templeton foundation. John Templeton's life work (besides being a billionaire investor) was studying and sharing religion. This is all public info. They have been shown to use "unfavorable" data points on occasion to get a certain result, let's just say that.

Puddle argument. And I’m not in the least bit depressed. You, on the other hand, sound manic

We're not all bad people baw
I don't worship devils or drop kick small children I just don't believe in a physical "god" or "Jesus".
Regardless, I try to do awesome shite for people whenever possible and set the best example possible for my son, and everyone else for that matter. I even volunteered my time to coach kids in a church league, who couldn't find a coach. My son wasn't even on the team.

I’m glad the Saints won. How’d you feel after that botched play last year? What about when life isn’t fair? What if life is great, but still unfulfilling?

“If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.”

I’m asking you to look into Timothy Keller or CS Lewis.

Likewise, no matter how many times you argue God isn't fair, is cruel, won't show,Himself, etc. does nothing to lend credence to your claims He doesn't exist.

But you believe fully despite any real evidence because...you were taught from an impressionable young age that he does?

1. "Non believers" are between 25%-30% of the population (atheism is just one type)
2. I grew up in a catholic family so I'm in no way mocking you but... Do you actually believe the stories of the bible happened? Legitimate question.
3. Over 90% of the scientific community are non believers.
4. There are thousands of religions, which one is right?

I'm a non believer, but I don't condemn christians or any other affiliation. I think if someone needs a security blanket in the shape of a "white" middle eastern guy, (he would certainly be very tan, but ego... I digress.) then that is a beautiful thing. Live your life the best way possible, but having the ego to call non believers insane is pretty ridiculous...

Bingo. This is me to a T...right down to being someone who was raised Catholic and doesn't believe.

Where I start condemning them is when they inject it into everything, use it as a way to judge or marginalize others, or to claim some moral high ground (when we know so many holier than thou types are indeed some of the worst people).

He's clearly saying it's something the church cooked up to save their asses which is exactly what happened

Wait, this is a mutually exclusive thing. If you believe the Bible to be "gospel" and the events in it the one true explanation....then that would make all other religions and explanations incorrect.

So if you strongly believe it, go on record, say it. All the other religions are wrong (though then the next thought would be "well, we're at an impasse, because those other religions feel the same way about yours")
