The Training Tower wasn't bad either. It came with a cave, snake, and 1911 pistol.

It was always a sure fire way to tell if a kid was a spoiled piece of shite if he had the GIJoe aircraft carrier.

A friend had one of these in the late 70’s.

Always wanted one!

That was the one GI Joe toy that eluded me, but we really didn't have room for something that big which is probably why my parents never bought it for me. If I recall correctly it was around $100. I used to drool over it (amongst other things) in the Sears catalog.

That was the goat 80s toy that every boy wanted. There is a vintage toy store 10 minutes from my house that has one on display.

I think he’s selling it for $1500

This is a lot of entertainment for less than 15 bucks.

Had it.

The planes were a kind of foam rubber so they didn't destroy things or break themselves.

I had it. Found out later in life that my dad put it together in the living room Christmas night only to realize it wouldnt fit through the toy room door so he had to disassemble and move it.. I bet many a curse word was involved that night. That said it was the goat 80’s toy for sure.

I had one like that but it didn't have the rubber band catapult deal to launch the planes. You just pull the lever in the back and it sent them. Maybe mine was a second gen. Early 80's.

I loved G.I. Joe. I had a lot of the figures, a few of the vehicles, but knew in a million years I'd never have the aircraft carrier or the space shuttle. I had to use my imagine and build bases from cardboard boxes and any other pieces of material I could fashion into something. I also had a corner of the garden outside of the house the parents would let me dig trenches in and which sometimes served as the G.I. Joe National Cemetery.

I did not have the carrier, but I had the rolling thunder and a bunch of others.

You want a ship?

What you want is the VertiBird Rescue Ship.

I “made” my own using some old scrap wood and pretended I actually had one.

My best GI joe thing was probably the hovercraft. I think it was called the Whaler.

The aircraft carrier was a fine piece of machinery, for sure, but the hovercraft was tGOAT.

Depth charges ftw.
