Not at all. You can't take someone that has experienced a few years of torture, call them liars, and then think that an "I'm sorry" 20 years later is going to wipe the slate clean. She's a piece of shite and I hope she fricking rots in hell.

Oh and about your apology quote... she was only doing it to help her film career.

quote:

In 1988, some 16 years after her tour of Hanoi when she made her famous radio broadcast and had her picture taken behind the same anti- aircraft guns that were shooting down US pilots, Jane Fonda appeard on 20/20 and was interviewed by Barbara Walters.
Two versions of this interview exist, one an actual transcript, the other a press release.

In both versions, there is a direct reference to the veterans in New England and this points to the reason for the timing of the apology.

At the time, Fonda was filming "Stanley and Iris" on location in a number of blue-collar New England towns. Production on the movie was being severely disrupted by protesting veterans and this was causing a serious problem for the film. Fonda decided that something had to be done, so she went on 20/20.

No, she didn't. She spoke out on behalf of their civilians and criticized American imperialism.

I was called in for a physical, reported for it, went through it, was about to be inducted when the draft ended.

It's the pink "V" for vagina... not the bronze "V" for valor. I want to eliminate any possible confusion.

Tell you what, Rex. Instead of spouting your stupid horseshite on here about that worthless bitch Hanoi Jane, how about you go over to your local American Legion, find some Vietnam vets, and share your thoughts with them face to face?

That would end well.

not about excusing everything Jane Fonda said or did in Vietnam.
A good start would be you acknowledging and admitting what she did do in Vietnam. Then we could have a discussion as to whether she deserves forgiveness.

You have done nothing but deny she was cause of any actions by the Vietnamese against US POWs. So, as Monica said to Bill . . . Care to come clean?

I don't care if you do ride a Vespa, I fully agree with this comment.

So, in your world lies are rescued by beating those who speak the truth?

At any rate, in case you missed it, I began this thread by stating I've shared my thoughts with a Vietnam vet.

FACTS

She supported Ho Chi Minh and communism
She called American POWs liars, hypocrites, and pawns
She posed for photographs with enemy soldiers sitting on the same anti-aircraft guns that shot down American pilots
She admitted that her actions were a betrayal of American forces

The majority of the shite you're claiming aren't facts are things she's openly admitted to doing. What displeases me is your blatant ignorance and refusal to acknowledge the truth.

Well if he's honest about really wanting to "clear the name" of Hanoi Jane, then the best place to start would be to address those who have the most hate for that dried up, communist-loving hag. He's not going to get anything done posting his shite on here.

So Rex, what will it be? Are you a man of conviction wanting to "right a wrong"? Alright, then actually do something and go talk to Vietnam Vets face to face about this matter you feel so passionately about. I'm sure they likewise will want to demonstrate to you how passionately they feel about Hanoi Jane as well. Should be a good back and forth.

I love it when you say this but not quite as much as when you get caught lying but insist everyone else is a liar and that they "need to apologize".

You truly are an entertaining, but extremely pathetic, person.

I'm adult enough to blame the torturers, not Jane Fonda. She never urged their tortures nor their deaths, and your accusation is akin to blaming George Bush for 9/11.

She has fully apologized for the things which she should have apologized for.
