I'll shite on far504quaad all day, but the article is as clear as can be. Y'all are crazy.
The confusing part is this:
quote:
On Friday, prosecutors dropped second-degree battery charges that had been pending against him since March. That night he caught the pass for Holy Cross' football team
It's confusing because depending upon the way you read it, it sounds like he is talking about a night in March.
I had to read it more than once to really understand what was being said. Not terrible, but definitely not well written.
And Farquaad has really become the Oweo of the OT, without the handicap. (saying with all due respect, chad).

With the addition of the opening sentence saying he was having a great weekend, its not hard to understand. You have to include the context.

I still dont think it was a sucker punch
The guy was actively in a street fight with multiple people. He was simply punched, not sucker punched.
If Thad Remington or whatever his name was punched a random guy walking the street, that is a sucker punch

Ive been in more than fair share of scraps, a few in the quarter as well. I’d you aren’t keeping your head on a swivel when your groups of friends gets into with another then you have no business being there.
I had my jaw broken in high school thinking a fight was over and people were done throwing punches. Trust me, that mistake never happened again

True, but when one has to read it more than once to understand the context, it's poorly written. Hey, I've seen much worse. I'm just pointing out that when first reading through the article, I had to reread it to understand exactly the story that the writer was portraying.
Now let's pile on Chadboy, something we can all agree on.

That's the sentence throwing people off. It's unclear whether he's referencing Friday night or the night of the previous assault. You can reasonably infer that he's talking about Friday night because football isn't played in March, but most people are probably quickly skimming it like me and have to do a double take.

Even if it's not true it's important that we're opening up a conversation

People like this guy usually end up in jail or dead. frick with too many people eventually you frick with the wrong one.
Posted on 10/9/17 at 3:31 pm to chillygentilly
Exactly, I don’t understand how anyone is arguing that it’s a clear and well written article.
Just saying that anyone being paid to write news stories should understand how to order the structure

3 seperate sentences describing 3 seperate reasons why his weekend was going well.

Almost like there's a pattern in this paragraph...

Ehh I was an idiot in high school and was involved in similar incidents. He will grow up and land on his feet, 18 year olds are dumb as hell and think they know it all.

Can you not just say it's a poorly written article? Yes, the point is easily deduced by reading it, but it was still worded terribly. One would expect more from a "professional."
It doesn't have to be one or the other.
