I'm guessing alcohol factored into the equation!

there are life rings every so many feet by the railings, People should of threw a couple in for him. He would maybe of had something to swim to.

That's a several story drop to the water. He probably was incapacitated by the impact.

So the idiot, now dead, got drunk and into an argument. Security called and he tried jumping to the raft? No tears shed.

Terrible way to go out. One minute you're drinking, partying, living it up on a vacation in a cruise ship in the Bahamas. Next minute you're clinging to life, falling into the dark ocean all by yourself. Then you drown, you're fish food, and your life is over. What a turn of events in a matter of mere seconds.

Cruisin' for a bruisin'

I can't imagine what it must feel like to be in the water, surrounded by darkness, watching that boat sail away from you...

He prob died or was knocked unconscious on impact

I really can't imagine being so drunk that I would ever think jumping over the railing of a cruise ship is a good idea. Nothing the cruise ship could've done at that point imo, personal accountability.

I looked up the ship and it has a bridge clearance of 223 feet. Obviously he didn't fall from the mast bit if he fell from the top deck, he had to have fallen from somewhere around 180 to 200 feet high would be fatal because the Golden Gate Bridge is 200 feet and it supposedly kills jumpers on impact.
But, looking at a photo of the ship, if this guy fell from where the rescue boats are suspended, he probably didn't fall from any more than 30 or 40 feet and would have been perfectly fine after hitting the water.

I'm sure he was the life of the party... too bad the party died

If you watch the video, he looks to have fallen from the place where the yellow boats are suspended. Most of us have jumped into a lake from higher than that. He was fine after falling and drowned out there.

From hitting the water?

The distance of the fall wouldn't have killed him, but he probably got caught in the wake of the ship and drowned before the waves subsided.

I think I've heard that if you fall in you will get sucked under the boat via one of the props.
Posted on 11/7/15 at 5:28 pm to PTBob
Hadn't thought about that, plus looking at the surface the ship appeared to be hauling arse so I bet those props were chugging.

What's up with that guy putting up the celebration arms in the video when the guy falls in the ocean?
He had a $5 bet with his nearby friend on whether or not the guy would survive.

Not to mention he looked a little overweight.
