re: Veterans Claiming 100% Disability

I’m not sure if the % of disability, but I know of a couple of vets who do receive checks because of their diabetes…they ate themselves into a disability according to the military and receive money for it.
That is insanity and I am sorry, that is not a disability.

I served 32 years and multiple combat tours. I know how it works. Often Awards are thrown around like candy. There are thousands of 11 series with CIBs who never fired a round. Thousands of people with bronze stars who never left the FOB. Thousands of Purple Hearts given for scratches.

Here is some advice to those Vets who are receiving any money or benefits at all from the VA:
STFU about it. Please. Be smart. STFU.

So you readily ADMIT that these diabetic fatsos DO INDEED have a disability???

I am both a retired Master Gunnery Sgt and 100% P&T but no unable to work designation. P&T without that just means not subject to future reviews after a period of time. I get both retirement and disability plus I work full time at least for a few more years. My disability is a a combination of things but most of it is centered on a broken back in Iraq. What’s your beef here?

And thousands have earned every bit of those medals weight and what the stand for.
We all have experiences and factual accounts of events that likely support both sides. I have a best friend that deployed 3 times and has two NO BULLSHITE purple hearts.

And? How does that make any of it right? Obviously the disability criteria has become as bad as any welfare program/system.

And you have to pay for it.... which means it's not FREE.

Amazing the number of people that don't know the difference between disability and compensation.
The tags say "disabled veteran." Not "compensated" veteran.
While I'm here....why do people get these tags? Is it a point of pride? Is it extra? Or is it less? is it free? Or is it mandatory?

This also makes me question: why the tags? It's definitely an advertisement for how many are on it.

WTF is your point??? Yes... there's soldiers that have awards they didn't deserve and soldiers that got exactly what they deserved.
You act like every vet or awards recipient is a liar and a crook. And if that's you stand then how about a HUGE.... PHUCK YOU!

$185/month
Everyone else pays that AND a $1,676 per benefit period hospital deductible and a $257 deductible and 20% coinsurance for their medical.
Yeah the health care is free. You pay for the insurance.

Many are complete liars, free loaders, and shite bags. 100% confirmed. Absolutely. Our military is just as sad as every other system in this country. Full of entitled whiny shite bags. Doesnt mean all of them are.
The worst part is the actual taxpayers have NO SAY in what happens.
Defense contractors have no incentive to cut costs, military personnel sits on the board, its all freeloading horse shite. Waste of taxpayer dollars, scammed right out from humble honest hardworking Americans.
$200k in disability is utter insanity. That guy better be in a wheelchair.
You can actually see in real time the cost of war. The average American gets nothing from that deal, just more government trash.

I don't believe you. No way someone is getting $16k a month. Throwing the bullshite flag.

I’ve gathered after being around several veterans in their late 40s and early 50s who said they are just waiting a couple more years to retire and get disability from the military as if it’s the standard thing to do like everybody does it.

Well it depends. Are you talking active duty or reservist? As stated, a LOT OF VETS get a VA compensation but it doesn't mean that they all get 100%. Even if they do, you looking at about $3800mo w/o dependants.
