Plaquemines LNG will create 250 new direct jobs at an average annual salary of $70,000 per year, plus benefits.
This is just for the operation jobs after it is built and running. During the construction phase, I'm sure it will employ 1,000+ people a day for a few years. During peak construction I'm sure it will push 5,000 people a day.

Is the LNG plant in the Lake Charles area/Cameron Parish up and running yet, or still under construction?

It's still under construction. Train 1 should be up Novemberish with Train 2 & 3 coming up a short time after. Train 4 & 5 is TBD.

The big rains in the BR area a few months ago set them back. (Chicago Bridge & Iron [formery Shaw Group - Baton Rouge]).
Big rains in BR area set the project in Cameron parish back?

How so? I didn't think they got that much rain that far west in the state for that flood. I would think CB&I is mostly pulling people out of Texas for that project. I could be wrong though.
I just got off of a large project with CB&I and we weren't really affected by the flood much.

Even fricking Buddy Roemer is trying to build one.
He is actually pretty far along with the project. Land is acquired and trying to get the final investments to break ground.

Toledo bend flooded a lot of shite south of the lake. I work with some people who's houses were pretty much washed away in the August flood.

CCJV, a joint venture between CB&I and Chiyoda, did not give any official cause for the delay but they did indicate that there had been rain and flooding at their Baton Rouge, Louisiana facility, she added. LINK
Sempra and its partners in the project are looking for more specifics but Reed said CCJV attributed the delays to heavy rain and some flooding at the contractor's fabrication facility in Baton Rouge.

Google doesn't really tell the stories in these situations.
I heard of progress issues over there before the flood even occurred. CB&I didn't necessarily do a bang up job on the $150+ MM project I was just on. We had progress issues on that one also, but it wasn't due to the flood.
The one we were talking about above is not for Venture Global LNG. There are like 8 LNG plants being built in that area.

Going out on a limb here: Different job, time and circumstances.
