Wife is interested in one for her car.
Any advice on a simple, middle of the road camera system?

I live stream my Go-Pro and plug it into the car cigarette lighter for unlimited power.

I researched them a couple of years ago but can’t remember which ones were recommended. I’ll be interested to hear what the ot thinks about them

Concealment is key- if you are at fault do you want a dash cam sitting there to bury you?

Don't think they're available, too dangerous. Right side only in the States. You can order a left side from over seas...

I have the Garmin 46 in my semi and it works great - it's tiny and uses your phones wifi to transfer videos to your phone instead of using cables and such, also Garmin has an app to clip/trim videos so that you can email them right from your phone. Worth every penny IMO.

Here's how my luck would go.... Yes sir, the video clears you on the wreck, but we have a few questions on the preceding hour and a half......

I have mid-range Thinkware dash cams in my vehicles. Front and rear camera feeds. Whatever you get, opt for polarizing lens filters otherwise glare will make anything you get almost worthless at times.

I have had a VAVA dash cam hardwired to my truck for almost a year now. Great quality picture and wide angle lense. Paid around $140 for camera, SD card and hardwire kit.

Get one with both a front facing and rear facing camera, know this from experience. Front doesn't do anything if someone runs into you.
