They were. They have tanked since everyone is running Ven Crudes on the gulf coast.

Your profit streams would be fine. Naphtha is tanking and your margins would be razor thing. VGO would be good, but without a coker and running Merey 16 you are trying to get blood from a turnip.

And who TF is us? That reads like you're some press release flunkies.

That would be myself and the other Shell employees that were transferred to my Shell plant after the shut down of the Motiva refinery.

several units are in the demo process.

Nothing new has been demo'ed since December last year. They finished a couple of units that were in the demo process this year, but no new demo work

If you work for Shell, how do you not know that Convent is not an empty field?

And it was a Shell, not Motiva refinery when it was shutdown. The Aramco/ Shell JV ended in 2017

The owner of the guaranteed supply via the OFAC agreement is the buyer of the naphtha. They get Venezuelan at a discount as repayment for monies stolen from them by Chavez

My daughter, the ChemE, is moving back to Texas and going back to work in refining. Tough major but great opportunity.

So just paying to ship naphtha back and forth? You are likely downgrading your naphtha to cutter stock if your naphtha is of any quality.

You have ~40% resid in your "profitable" feedstock and you are going to sell that into a depressed asphalt market because you don't have a coker.

And your feedstock is controlled by a country with a shifty pass and a dictator propped up by a US politician that will be a lame duck in 24hrs.

I see the Merey 16 "leases" being pimped all over. Just as soon as they find someone to give them money to get production online. Burn me once....

I don't work for Shell, but I do know that their former site in Convent is not just an empty field. I understand that the FCCU had been demolished but not sure of any other demolition completed or planned.

You have always come across as someone who really knows the refining business.

With Convent having an SF acid Alky, Naphtha Hydro treater, CRU, Crude unit capable of 70-140mpbd, sulfur recovery complex, and 2 low sulfur diesel hydrotreaters, but no FCCU, Coker, Hydrocracker, or a low sulfur gasoline hydrotreater, what can run through that site? Or would a new owner be likely to build a CCU/ GHT and Coker at a minimum?
