I loaded these to Imgur then posted from there. I did it that way because I’ve noticed lately postimage.org seems to delete pictures soon after they’re loaded. I’ll embed the post from my X profile. Maybe that will work for you…

A lot of the girth of the P-47 came from its huge supercharger system….

Beautiful. Thanks.
Have you completed an A1 Sky Raider? Similar lines.

Sometimes, not often. I did build a BMP-2 recently.

I built an A7 Corsair last year and an M1A2 Abrams. The Abrams was a commission build for a guy who posts here. Can’t remember his username. He’s a commander of an Armor Bn. In I think the 3rd ID.

I haven’t. But I want to get one for my stash. The weathering possibilities intrigue me…

Cool. I’ll have to bookmark that to watch later. I love old wartime films like this.

Hey Darth,

Have you switched exclusively to spray painting versus brushing?

Whatever you are doing the finish on this model looks fantastic!

I airbrush pretty much everything. Sometimes I’ll brush paint the tiny parts that require detail, things like components in the cockpit, tools on vehicles, things like that.

Thanks. This one was quite simple. I mixed two parts Tamiya acrylic chrome silver with one part metallic gray on the body. I did that to give it that metallic silver color common to P-47Ds, but not too shiny. I masked the top of the fuselage and painted it OD green. I followed that up by using Tamiya black panel accent and cleaned up the excess with enamel thinner. That really all I did on this build.

Thanks. There was another version of this kit I could have done that had a whole lot more decals. It had a checkerboard covering the engine cowling and invasion stripes on the bottom of the wings. But I’m not enough of a fan of doing decals, plus I like the nose art on this one. So I went with it.

Great work with the panel lines and weathering from this view looks realistic and not over done.

I finally got to see a Jug at the Museum of Flight in Seattle a few years ago. It’s huge, especially compared to a Mustang. Had to scare the hell out of the Luftwaffe seeing that big fighter screaming out of the sky.

Odds are if you flew one of those you were trained at Harding Field in Baton Rouge.
