You should take the time to read "Indestructible: One Man's Rescue Mission That Changed the Course of WWII", which the B-25 is one of the main characters of. The book is about PI Gunn and his initiative to convert B-25's into gunships for commerce raiding with multiple MGs and even 75 mm cannon in the nose. The cheek guns were one of his innovations IIRC. Many consider his work on the B-25 to be the genesis of modern ground attack platforms like the AC-130 and A-10.

I’ve heard a lot about Gunn’s modifications to B-25s during the war. One of my favorite podcasts, The Unauthorized History of the Pacific War”talked at length about it in one of their episodes. They have a YouTube channel. You should check it out.

Great job and nice nose art. I have a book written by the son of a WW2 Pacific vet who was from Opelousas. While Bertrand was overseas serving with the army, he took his camera and snapped plenty of pictures including some showy WW2 nose art. I’m looking through the book now after your model reminded me.

WWII nose art has always been a side interest of mine. I have a book on it in my collection somewhere.

Was that the ole baw who had a conversation with the North American engineers and said “of course it fricking works, I fricking flee it myself. He had to go to their company to prove they could mount more .50s. Eventually the North American engineers outdid him and mounted more .50 brownings.

I was looking at this pic and thought about those rudders straight behind those engines.. Parallel no less... Would the yaw be easy due to dual rudders, or a slug fest due to prop blast?- Aerodynamics of wing curvature?.
A successful Aircraft... Never heard a complaint from a B25 Pilot... And that's the truth...

I read Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo about the Doolittle Raid when I was in 5th grade and the B-25 has had a special place for me ever since

Very nice work indeed. I hardly ever do natural metal finish models because it's such a pain and for it to be realistic you have to have like five different shades of natural metal for all the different metals they use on the aircraft and how they weather differently.
I'm almost finished my ICM Bristol Beaufort. I put all the breakable parts on today tomorrow is decals and weathering and calling it quits on this one. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.
