OT needs to learn there are a lot of shite educators. They get drunk on first day, frick kids, cum in kids cupcakes and violate rights. They are glorified baby sitters. Then they bitch and complain when students are getting dumber, yet waste their time on bullshite like this.

I don’t think anything prompted it. It’s part of the school driving contract that’s been in place for years and it cites student safety because large flags can obstruct their view while driving
I think it’s painfully obvious this school did not mean this at all as a political statement. It’s clear the school has zero issue with the American flag itself .

Failing to see resource officers enforcing this in the OP. They can do anything, they can also be held accountable for civil rights violations.

I haven't really given an opinion yet

What's scary is you think a board of local politicians can unilaterally remove someone's freedom of speech.

I think it’s a far cry from a school telling students don’t have large flags in their cars because it can obstruct their view, to you jumping to the government not allowing people to own homes
Public schools have made kids wear uniforms for years. Why aren’t people freaking out about that?

Think about what you just wrote:
In order for the school to revoke the student’s parking pass for displaying the flag they must show that the flag:
The mere fact that the flag could be theoretically “distracting” doesn’t come anywhere close to that standard.

I agree that this likely isn't an issue about the school discriminating against the American flag.
Probably not, there are a lot of people in education that are just intolerable humans and are uber risk averse.
I got sent home my JR year of HS for wearing a Queen Fat Bottom Girl t-shirt. They didn't accept my claim it was artistic.

I fail to see a lot of details in that original article tbh

That wasn't your argument that I quoted.

Do you not understand that a public school can't just make up any rule it likes and enforce it?
On second thought...their policy on flag size really isn't discriminatory. It doesn't make much sense either. I'm guessing that they may have had some incidents in the past which caused them to create this very specific policy?

Well that’s what most of us are going by, what is reported. What is being reported IS a civil rights violation by the school.

Nobody is preventing him from freedom of speech. He can paint his car red white and blue all day

Aren't they saying the flags would be a distraction to drivers in the parking lot, which would interfere with the operation of the school, by way of potential accidents.
Just saying it isn't enough. They have to show it actually is a distraction. Good luck with showing flags in a parking lot is distracting students in a classroom.

I’m not sure what you are arguing. The school has gone out of their way to give students FREE AMERICAN Flags to use on their vehicles that complies with the policy. That is extremely reasonable. But the student refuses to accept this. It’s clear what his motivation is, and it’s clear the schools motivation isn’t against the flag or free speech

Against school policy, no big deal.
Follow the rules or go to another school.
