So Utah is like the western version of Alabama?

You might want to rethink that. In places like the Middle East, North Africa, and India marrying your cousin is not only accepted, it’s downright expected. Muslims marry their cousins at a high rate.

That, and Utah is not typically considered the Northwest. And although the church moved from Ohio to Missouri and then to Illinois, it wasn't founded in any of those states. It's almost impressive to get so much wrong in such a short paragraph.

Not only that but he Claimed that he looked it up. Which would mean that he had all the correct information in front of him, and then still managed to get almost every pertinent point wrong.

Queen of England is married to her cousin. Einstein married his. The Rothschilds have always done uncle-niece marriage.

They got to the Great Salt Lake and saw it as a miracle from God and began to praise and sing Hallelujah, The Lord Has Blessed Us. Then they descended to the lake to discover it was a putrid, lifeless salt pit.

Yeah.

They didn't just wander west and stumble across the Salt Lake Valley. They had researched the area ahead of time and chose it specifically because of its remote location. Brigham Young wasn't even in the first company to arrive.

There are estimates that over 80% of human marriages were between cousins. Which makes sense for most of human history, where you were confined to a 40 sq mile area for generations. No clue why anyone would do it in the modern age.
