It's a new navy. Almost every new ship is going to be a mirage of features that mixes the best features of cruiser, destroyer, and air craft carrier ships of the past. In addition to being radar resistent the requirements to being successful in modern warfare are just insane.

I don't buy the sea stealth stuff. I hope they plenty of CIWS and other stuff when those surface to surface missiles are closing in.

One of the biggest vulnerabilities with the navy is land-based missiles and aircraft responding to radar signals. Time will tell if it is useful or not, but I think the covert opportunities with any stealth craft is substantial.
