USPS tracking has a banner stating they are behind. They are clearly melting down.

Postal service needs to private.....UPS and FEDEX are awesome.

I have never once dealt with USPS and come away with the opinion that the employees went through any kind of screening for competence or that they give a damn whether my mail arrives at its destination when it’s supposed to.
They not only suck at their jobs, they are unapologetic assholes.

Government employee mindset: You need me I don’t need you. Customer satisfaction has no bearing on the status of my employment/organization or my paycheck.
Private businesses have to deliver a great product or service to exist. Government enterprise spends other folks’ money.

My local USPS up until this year was actually very efficient and had great employees. Suddenly (covid era), they don't have what I need, have long lines, and have become the stereotypical post office. The main guy who used to work there there is now nowhere to be found. I wonder if he was running a tight ship and it fell apart when he left.

I’m in for a double whammy if Ga’s people are too. But then again I might get extra deliveries

USPS has always been horrible
Now they are just inept. Our Mailman come delivers at 7:00pm to 8:00pm every week night.
Our other mailman, before i called him out on the local newspapers comment section was getting here at 5-6pm during November/December. I called him out, not by name, but where i lived, and suddenly the 6pm turned into 2:30pm every day since that day.
New guy is bad and milking the clock. They stopped hiring Veterans first, they are hiring inept morons at record pace to deliver mail, or dump it, if they feel like it.

I don’t like to rag on USPS, my local one was been great for years.
This year they’ve been thrown in the gauntlet. DeJoy fricked them, they managed to recover a bit and then the holidays hit.
It’s really not surprising that they’re struggling right now. The majority of retailers had online only sales for Black Friday, take into account much of the country is doing way more online shopping than normal holidays plus COVID..of course there’s gonna be significant delays. With that being said, most of my packages are arriving in about a week of shipping.

Mom is stuck at home due to china flu so I have been purchasing stamps online and sending them to her since April. My experience is 10 days for routine delivery time for basic stamps.
I ordered her Christmas stamps before Thanksgiving and it took 2 weeks for delivery.

Had the same thing happen with UPS recently. All carriers are slammed right now due to COVID related circumstances and are struggling to keep up with increased volume from people choosing to limit their in store shopping and mainly order online.

Our mail lady is awesome. She drives a Jeep Wrangler (which makes her very cool), leaves chocolates in our mailbox for Christmas, and gave my SO and I a small "just married" gift when we moved in. I hope she stays here forever. Everyone in the neighborhood is on a first-name basis with her.

Why do you need 60 stamps? I haven’t mailed anything in prob a decade.

I have actually tried to find some kind of anti-USPS PAC to which I might contribute. As far as I can tell, such a thing does not exist, but if it did I would give as much as I could afford. I mean thousands, maybe even tens of thousands, right off the bat.

quote:so does Walmart and Kroger sell “stamps” - but honey did you notice in my OP, I said CHRISTMAS STAMPS? Vast difference. None of the mentioned retailers sell Christmas stamps. Thus the online order. Nez pas?

I have 2 packages expected, one from Tampa and one from Houston. Each have been sitting in Tampa and Houston facilities awaiting transit........since 12/5. No updates on USPS tracking site and sellers checked for me an they don’t know much more. WTF.
A friend has the same scenario with his package sitting in the Birmingham facility.
USPS is a joke.
Have a package that has been sitting in Philadelphia since December 1st. Just says ‘in transit’. No updates since then.
