Lets for a minute pretend that "African Americans" were never brought to America and treated as slaves (which is abhorrent and indefensible), do you realize how much better off the current (notice the use of the word current) ancestors are than they would be in the poorest parts of Africa currently? Jesus people in this country are so damn spoiled, our poor have their own apartments or houses, public transportation, cable and GD cell phones but poor them (not blacks just poor people in general) there so disadvantaged.

I blame white people for the plight of the poor as well, the social programs that demean and demoralize them act as a weight around their necks and works exactly as it was meant to - keep em poor and voting for the nice rich white folks that keep handing it out free of charge.

Actually, I think Harrison found the need to apologize for what he said. So I don't think there is as much of a difference in the tolerance of either race using it in the same context as some people on here imagine.
