I’ve been looking for a new ride to replace the old Benz (rust) but have found most new cars to be utter crap.

The XJ looks great, drives great. My understanding is the 03-07 have aluminum body panels.

But would this be a decision like getting a divorce to date Alyssa Milano?

You do realize that in order to buy a Jag you have to prove that your dick is shorter than 3" fully erect, right?

I don't think I even need to start explaining.

Hah! I’m open to other suggestions on solidly built cars that are good on the highway and get reasonable mileage as well. Might end up keeping mine as a parts car and getting a similar model/year with a good body as well.

Over the years I have owned some used xjs. They are fun to drive but you do not want one unless you are able to work on them yourself. I had a friend who was in the business of restoring old Jaguars. He bought a Jaguar with a V12 for personal use and could not afford to keep it up even though he had mechanics on his staff.

Good looking cars with terrible records of ownership. Unless you are really good with a wrench and willing to Uber occasionally when it's down then stay away.

A lady I worked with had an XJ and the air conditioner failed on it. She brought it to the shop to get it fixed and to the shop’s credit for being honest, they told her the estimate to repair it was not worth the remaining value of the car.
