A lot of people are fed up with the national organization, with good reason. But most local troops are great with very good kids.

It all comes down to leadership. The national organization's leaders are paid shills obsessed with being pc. Your local troop is run by volunteer dads, who usually have the kids' best interest first.

Nailed it.

A better way to phrase this is by doing nothing. It's not like you would be in the program if nothing changed.

It was always BOY Scouts. It taught boys how to be men. Allowing girls in ruined it all. Congratulations for being part of the destruction.

How did it ruin it? Were you even part of the organization prior to girls being in it? Were you supporting it prior to that? Have you been in it since girls were allowed in?

A bigger destruction was the people not protecting the boys back in the day. There was a troop in New Orleans that was basically a child sex ring. However, nope, you want to blame girls coming in as a ruining factor.

Too many pedophiles and cross deessing kids have infiltrated the scouts and the scouts wont grow a sack to root out all the undesirables.

So the military just cuts ties.

The BSA filed bankruptcy over child sexual abuse that had been going on for 50+ years, but tell me how this pedophilia is a new thing.

Well, I’m too old to be a Scout.

Policy change from Scouting America. Pentagon reverses course on support for Scouting.

Scouting America cuts DEI programs after pressure from Pentagon, Hegseth

quote:

Scouting America is cutting all DEI initiatives following a mandate from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, who threatened to pull Department of War support if the organization did not comply.

The "Citizenship in Society" merit badge is discontinued effective immediately, and is being replaced by a new requirement focused on military service and veterans for those seeking the rank of Eagle Scout.

New policies mandate use of biological sex for membership and "intimate spaces" like tents and showers, though the organization will continue to serve girls and maintain the name Scouting America.

Maybe we'll see Trump at national jamboree after all.

We have three brothers in our troop. 1 eagle, 1 life (but close) and 1 second class. They older two had finished Citizenship in Society. At our meeting this week, they were already given their younger brother crap about how their eagle was harder than his.

On my first camping trip the scout master told ghost stories about an old light house. For initiation I had to climb to the top of the light house at midnight without a flash light. After every step I would say I know you are going to try and scare me.

I was right because at the very top they all jumped out yelling and scared the hell out of me. Next time a new camper was there he had to climb the steps and when we jumped out he wet his pants..

Doubt that would happen today

That’s some bullshite about still allowing girls. It’s called BOY SCOUTS damnit!

Many fathers will not do the scouts because of this.

Why should the military support an organization that doesn’t align with its core values.. for years, the scouts have been a tenet and foundation for military ideals of individual ruggedness with a collective set of values within a hierarchy system akin to the military. Those no longer align.

Because little boys developing into young men need a place where they can so pun be little boys

When I was a cub scout, every Den Leader was a Den Mother. It wasn't truly all boys and men until Boy Scouts.

Which was my point. They had disassociated and have re-engaged with policy changes that align
