swimming should be a prerequisite for everyone.

A person can be the smartest student in the world with a 4.0 GPA, but they will never receive a degree from MIT without passing a swimming test, MIT started this in the 1960s after a student drown, should be requirement to graduate from any college.

In the real test you get out of the pool and immediately start the other exercises. I could do 27 pull-ups rested, but could only manage 16 on the test due to the proximity of the swim. I’m sure that dude could pass (you have to a hell of a lot better than pass to make buds) but the score he posted there isn’t real. He is not a normal marine by any stretch
sounds like you took the test off of D street........ yup.....and goggles... WTF.. no goggles allowed... the guy spraying with the hose.. would be pissed.

The swim portion is more of a test of technique than cardio. A strong swimmer with a good flip turn will barely have to use their arms in a pool that short.

I was surprised how fast he flamed out in the pushups. At his age I maxed the Army PT test (72 at the time) in just over a minute, his upper body suggests he should be able to do more than 74.

They mentioned he had a chest injury that held him back.

Thanks, that makes more sense I kinda jumped around in the video. Was that the reason behind his awkward swimming style as well?

Wouldnt be fair to go against a hot soilder. In thought..If I was overtaking something and leading a rebellion, ascending to the top..to have such come out and try to stop me 1 on 1 would be a mindfrick.

"Please dont make me kill you, it would be such a waste..we could make it work.."

He's typical of the majority of 0311 infantry Marines who work out which is all of them to some degree. This was his first shot and with practice he'd improve especially swimming.

I could pass this test back in the day but was no where near Seal or Force Recon material.

The best I saw on these tests were former high school football skill position players. They'd smoke the rest of us regular shite birds.

S/f brothers.
