another angle

Looks like different events. In the second one you can see that there's already been one explosion before the second one which causes the big fireball. In the first video, there's no other explosion.

Even still, that's really not that huge of a blast radius or fireball.

Who dropped that in Yemen?

Putin and his puppet, Trump.
I'm sure this warms your heart, Sao.

Is that fuel air effect or a secondary?

I think it's a secondary.

Roll your eyes if you want. Look at the second explosion in this video: JDAM explosions

A lot of those are detonating after at least a 5ms delay, hence all the dirt and less smoke/fire. Putting a slight delay helps mitigate collateral damage or risks to nearby friendly troops and is a pretty standard practice.

The second explosion is likely a couple 2,000 lb JDAMs and has every bit as big of a fireball as the link you had.

No. I just don't think spending 20 Trillion dollars bombing people who live is sand huts is a great use of our limited resources.

Oh well, good to know the folks actually making those decisions now disagree with you. ... And it beats the shite out of handing over billions to Barry's terrorist buddies in Iran.

I would be willing to bet it is neither. It is an impact fuzed 2,000 lb JDAM. You can tell the bigger explosion is closer than the first, so not a secondary.

So, you're saying it was 2 bombs. If not that's a classic secondary.

Different posts. The two bombs I was referring to was in the second set of explosions in the video I posted. You can clearly see two different explosions in that group. The one I was saying was not a secondary and was only one weapon was the GIF that was supposedly a MOAB used in Yemen.

I think that is a single 2,000 lb JDAM with an impact (also known as instantaneous) fuze setting. I was trying to compare its fireball and blast radius to the video I posted. In that video, there are five separate strikes. The second strike has a very large fireball. Those strikes were from Afghanistan and the largest weapons employed there (until today) were 2,000 lb JDAMs.

Pretty sure MOAB's suck all the oxygen out of surrounding areas and and percussion alone can kill people hidden away in tunnels assuming they don't die from all the oxygen getting sucked out.

A MOAB is like 10x bigger than that puppy.

A mile radius of sheer destruction.

I think the worry is that a bomb of this nature could have killed civilians as well. Which sort of fuels ISIS' narrative when recruiting.

With that said, I hope we killed 10k of those ISIS fricks.

Weird because this was the first usage of the bomb outside of testing

Yeah it is.

But they were doing that anyway with strategic drone strikes. Its not like they can ramp up that propaganda anymore than they already have.

I suspect this bomb was chosen over more efficient ordinance because of the politcal effect its use would have at home

Before I say this, I want to state that I am "independent" when it comes to my political views. I am a registered Republican, but I do not vote down party lines so I am not someone who is a die hard from one party who will argue against everything the other side says.

Trump is not fit to be president. After we bombed Syria, his approval rating spiked and since he is more concerned about what people are saying and thinking, than anything else, IMO he was just looking for another reason to do the same thing that gave him a spike in approval ratings.

I was looking at ISIS controlled areas in Afghanistan and it seems like he wasted resources on this one.

One day he says one things then the next day he says the complete opposite and he really needs to expand his vocabulary because I get tired of him saying shite like "it is very very very good" or whatever he is talking about its aways "the best I ever seen".

Just for the record. This isn't me trying to argue with you. I am all for discussing it, but don't think I am just being a dick trying to argue with you.
