They've already backtracked on the "Technical Issues".

The NTSB has been invited over by Iran and that is quite literally the only involvement the US needs to have in this homemade Iranian clusterf***.
They’ve proven to be what the US has been saying they are all along. They look horrendous in this and now the entire international community is seeing it.

US needs to sit this one out. No Americans on board. Let Canada or Ukraine handle this shite.
This. Sorry Canada and Ukraine. This is your problem now.

So much dumb here.
1. For flying a commercial jet in the middle of that.
According to Wiki, this airport handled 8.8 million passengers in 2017 and is in a city of ~16 million people. It isn't considered some middle of nowhere high risk area.

I didn't know the NTSB had been allowed/invited into Iran. I did read that Ukranian officials are already on the ground.

That's why Iran won't turnover the black boxes.
Yep.
As soon as they refused to turn that over you knew the government stepped in because they knew they fricked up.

They said it was definitively a plane malfunction (likely engine fire).
To be fair, the engines likely did stop working after the missile hit.

I would think they could have just killed him or her on the way to the airport if that was the case.
The guy gets through security at the last minute as they're trying to locate him, just before they can radio ahead. They realize just as the plane is taking off that he made it onboard and radio to shoot it down.

Still Trump's fault.
I'm sure that pussyfoot Canadian PM will have a strongly worded response.

I’m reading now that they were invited by Iranian officials but are unlikely to participate on the ground due to the recent hostilities.

One of the public comments Iran made regarding the black boxes was that they were recovered, but were damaged and some of the memory was missing.
Sounds like the groundwork for a potential coverup.

Not a bad decision at all. Let the Ukranians and Canadians sort it out and go from there.

I’m wondering why 65 Canadians were doing on that plane. 65. Why?

They were dentists and doctors, whole families with small children, a newlywed couple and students returning from holidays.
Many were academics and professors, pursuing careers in engineering, computer science, business and finance.
They were among the people with connections to Canada who were killed when Flight PS752 crashed Wednesday shortly after taking off from Tehran's main airport on its way to Kyiv. All 176 people aboard were killed, including 63 Canadians.
They had roots across the country, in six provinces, including British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
More than 30 of the victims were from Alberta, most from the Edmonton area, which had 4,630 people who identified as being of Iranian origin, according to the 2016 census.
"It's devastating and shocking," Reza Akbari, president of the Iranian Heritage Society of Edmonton, who knew many of the Edmonton victims.
I'd imagine most were Iranian-Canadians

There were British and German citizens on board too, as well as a handful of other countries.
This is a huge fricking deal. I wish it had a bunch of Russians on board so they could get pissed.

Here's how I envision Iran looking like within the next year:
