US Initial Jobless Claims skyrocket to 3,283,000

Just to note: The largest jobless claims week during the 2007 Recession was 700,000.
And this is just getting started. Strap in boys, this is going to be B-A-D.
We desperately need antibody testing, so that those of us who have already gotten CV19 and beaten can get back to work.

But in the past decade there has been a spike of people using the surplus between a mortgage on a secondary house and rental income as passive income.
When the tenants quit paying their income, if the part-time landlord can't afford both mortgages they will throw the keys of their second house at the bank and walk away. This will put the banks in a similar pickle to 2007.
Depending on how long this lasts, I see shitbirds here claiming we haveto do this for 3 months, then the banks may have to be bailed out as well.

A lot of these claims are temporary furlough/reduction of hours claims too.
Meaning the anticipation is they're not permanent. Even pro-employer states are requiring employer-filed claims for temporary layoffs.

How many of these jobless claims are due to service industry employees being laid off with the intention of being hired back once this is over, allowing them to get benefits in the meantime? A lot of the places around me are doing that. The ones that are still doing curbside service are skeleton crews.
