You can do the math for Mississippi bc that is where I live . I am just speaking on average number of new cases per day has gone up since March and the governor was fussing at citizens the other day about taking precautions .
All depends on percent Tested that is positive. With the massive increase in testing, new official cases will also increase. The media hardly ever gives you the %positive number though.

Isn't part of the spike recently due to a bunch of new test being done as well as a big dump on a day or two of old positives?

So testing positive does not mean you are infected with the virus ? IDK just asking
No he’s just saying more people have been tested, and we are now seeing those positives we should not have seen earlier.

MS 3.15mm...almost identical..0.15% have it and 0.028% died in 5 months
Never was defensive..have been a #s geek on this Covid shite
When people hear the truth they don't freak out...there are less than 130k active cases in the US..that is .04% of the country and shut it down

There have always been way more actual infections than there were actual confirmed cases. Probably 10 times more in the early stages of this. If you increase testing and focus that testing on hot spots, you catch more of the cases and got more positive results. But that is a function of the testing, not of more people having the disease.
Not saying this is the whole explanation, but it is part of it.

It looks like we have all but completely defeated this thing. Hoping there's no spike in a couple weeks from all the protests/riots. But I'm highly optimistic

Thats not what CNN says

Is the % positive number readily available on a per state basis?
