Like I said we're pretty shitty at imperialism (I guess I should've specified the imperialism that has taken place traditionally over the last 3000 years and not the 21st century version)

I sincerely hope the Army War College didn’t just now figure out the difference between casualty rates of low-intensity wars fighting insurgencies like what we fought in Iraq & Afghanistan from high-intensity wars between fully mechanized national armies.

It will take a nuclear strike to get the U.S. proper officially “boots on ground” in Ukraine.

Maybe if they stopped worrying about stupid shite and turned back into a literal killing machine we wouldn't need all this shite.

Also why would I want my kid to sign and die for the likes of Joe Biden, Lindsay Graham, Pelosi, or Mitch McConnell. I'm a simple man, but I feel like every day I'm getting pushed more and more into a corner, and I know I'm not the only one. Those fricking fools in Washington need to realize that cornered animals lash out.

Exactly why Russia is having problems in Ukraine

Their findings conclude that the United States military is not ready for large scale combat operations and that partial conscription maybe required due to the "obsolescence" of the all-volunteer design developed during the 1970s and 1980s.
Like they would actually release ALL the information. USA is still #1 and would crush anyone!

All the best officers get out as Captains and move on to the civilian sector because they get sick of dealing with the bureaucratic nonsense of the military. Our field grade level and up officer corps is filled with mediocrity.

You think there will be less robotics in the future of the army? Not sure where you get your information
In less than 30 minutes, Russia, China, and the US can put each other's military back in WWII mode, without going nuclear.

The government uses tax payer money to fund the military to attack or over throw countries. Then private companies get lucrative deals. No one ever said that there was a good ROI for the american tax payer. Thats part of the scam.
That article references deals in 2012. How long do private companies have to wait to sign contracts after a war has ended?
2nd, the primary company mentioned is Royal Dutch Shell, a Dutch company. If it was so nefarious wouldn't it all be all US companies? (exxon, Chevron, etc..)

Shouldn’t have never gotten rid of the draft. It needs to be brought back as quickly as possible.
Why?
You think we need more cannon fodder to enrich the MIC even more?

When people say this I really don't know what they're talking about. The military is mostly straight, white, men.

The head of the US Army has overtly stated that he's looking for white supremacy/domestic white terrorism under every stone.

I read this as if it's Brian Kelly saying we need to force all the 5 stars to come to LSU if we want to win.
Sounds like an effective way to win games and wars to me.

The next time someone in the military says that the military is prepared, over supplied, and properly trained will be the first time.
All the war college does is complain about not enough money, training, or tool.
I mean...it's the peace time army and the military is currently gearing up for a potential war against China that they think will kick off before the end of the decade. Historically speaking, the peace time military is woefully unprepared for a full scale military conflict between first world powers.
The United States Army, at present, has the following manpower resources at their direct disposal:
- 452,689 active duty personnel
- 324,019 National Guard personnel
- 176,968 Army Reserve personnel
That's fewer than 1,000,000 uniformed personnel of all types. The vast majority of them aren't frontline personnel.
The U.S. Navy is also looking pretty rough. There are currently 400,000 uniformed personnel in the navy, of which over one-quarter aren't active duty, crewing fewer than 300 ships. And this is the branch we are going to have to depend upon the most to defeat China in a hypothetical war.
Just as a comparison: in 1945 the United States had over 16 million men and women in uniform. In 2023 that number is about 1.4 million.
